About the MEC
The Moodle Educator Certification Program provides a comprehensive, competency-based curriculum designed to help educators build their mastery of digital competencies via the Moodle platform.
Please know that the Moodle Educator Certification Program will not teach you Moodle. It is designed for people who already understand Moodle very well, and want evidence that they use it effectively within their courses.
Who should earn the MEC?
The Educator Certification Program curriculum is designed for teachers, instructors, and trainers who want to:
develop their digital competencies;
learn how to advance their Moodle skills;
collaborate with a community of innovative instructors; and
obtain the certification and recognition for their mastery of teaching and learning goals.
The program applies and extends the foundational skills mastered in the 4-week Learn Moodle Basics training course.
How long will it take and what will it cost?
Elearning Experts will offer the Moodle Educator Certification Program starting June 10, 2019. We will have a specific date as soon as Moodle HQ releases that information.
The Core Certification will run six (6) weeks (1 week for each module). To complete the Core, Teaching Approach, and Comprehensive Certifications, you should plan on 6 months of largely self-paced study as there are 22 modules.
Elearning Experts' online, blended courses offer course facilitator(s) who are available during a set time each week to answer your questions and help you through any issues that might arise.
Participants can expect to spend approximately 4-6 hours in each of the six (6) modules exploring and working with the supporting content and activities.
to the MCCC?
The Moodle Course Creator Certificate (MCCC) has been replaced in 2019 by the Moodle Educator Certification Program (MEC). As of 1st October 2018 no new MCCC registrations are possible.
